Where am I?
Welcome to the Spring Hill High School Theatre Department! Thank you for your interest in our department.
The 2016-17 school year has flown by and been full of great events for us. We had a successful run of the hilarious musical comedy The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in November. Our competitive improv team The CelebriTeeHees won their state competition at the annual Kansas State Thespian Conference in January and are currently competing in the city-wide improv league Operation Show in Kansas City. Along with these big events we've been fundraising for a Summer trip to NYC and working hard in all of our classes on performances and projects.
Currently we are finishing work on our spring play, the classic and quirky comedy Arsenic and Old Lace which performs March 31st and April 1st at 7:00pm.
Along with the major events within our department, we offer a full range of class offerings to help you explore and develop your interest in all of the aspects of Theatre and performance. Theatre is an entry-level, overview class. Acting 1 is for students wanting to further develop their Acting skills. Acting 2 & Repertory Theatre are audition-only classes for Acting students who want to continue to improve their acting skills through genuine performance opportunities. The Technical Theatre class provides students with a working knowledge and skill applications in the craft of producing theatre. Public Speaking allows students the opportunity to improve their information planning and presentation skills.
We are an all-inclusive, vibrant department that continues to grow each year. We hope you will consider being a part of our department in some way. Students, consider our class offerings, main-stage productions, or other events we offer. Parents and community members, your help and support is always appreciated to help us achieve our goals.
